Terms of Use

SAMPLE TEMPLATE — this text will be reviewed by legal counsel before transactional launch.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the AlloPro platform, which connects clients with verified home-service workers. By creating an account, you accept these terms.
2. AlloPro's role
AlloPro is a technical intermediary: the service contract is entered into directly between the client and the worker. AlloPro does not perform the work and acts as a technical agent for payment in trust, operated by our payment partner — funds are never held by AlloPro.
3. Accounts and verification
Workers must supply identity documents (and licences where required) and are activated after review by our team. Any substantial profile change returns the account to pending verification. Clients agree to provide accurate information.
4. Requests, quotes and negotiation
Requests are shown to verified workers matching the trade and area. Negotiation proceeds through alternating counteroffers on price and date. Contact details remain hidden until payment in trust; messaging opens after the offer is accepted and the deposit is paid.
5. Payment in trust and fund release
The agreed amount is paid into trust before work begins. Upon completion, the worker submits proof (photos and a comment); the client approves or reports an issue. Funds are released after approval, or following mediation in the event of a dispute.
6. Fees
Use is free for clients. Workers pay a 12% fee on won contracts (minimum $12). Advisory professionals (Pros) subscribe ($49.99/month or $499/year). Contracts are capped at $10,000.
7. No circumvention
Using the platform to obtain a contact and then completing the transaction off-platform to avoid fees is prohibited and may lead to account suspension. This rule protects the trust arrangement, the guided experience, and fairness to workers who play by the rules.
8. Reviews
Reviews may only be published after a completed and paid job. They must be honest and respectful. Fraudulent or defamatory reviews may be removed.
9. Disputes and mediation
If there is a disagreement about the work, either party may open a dispute. Our human mediation team reviews the submitted proof and decides on release, partial or full refund of the funds in trust, within the posted timelines.
10. Liability
AlloPro makes reasonable verification efforts but does not guarantee the quality of the work, which is the worker's responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, AlloPro's liability is limited to the fees collected for the job concerned.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute falls under the courts of the judicial district of Longueuil, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
